Mathematics for Life Scientists
Lecture, three hours; laboratory, two hours. Preparation: three years of high school mathematics (to algebra II), some basic familiarity with computers. Mathematical modeling as tool for understanding dynamics of biological systems. Fundamental concepts of single-variable calculus and development of single- and multi-variable differential equation models of dynamical processes in ecology, physiology, and other subjects in which quantities change with time. Use of free computer program Sage for problem solving, plotting, and dynamical simulation in laboratory. Letter grading.

This was the best professor ever. He was always accommodating to our needs. He taught very well. I highly recommend taking this class with professor Bennoun.
Lectures and tests were pretty fair. I recommend going to class and doing practice problems.
Steve was a pretty good teacher. The class got boring at times but the coding labs were fun
don't get me wrong i don't love the material of this class but this prof is goated. truly cares about his students and presents content very clearly
great professor, very organized and material is pretty straight forward as long as you pay attention in lecture and participate
Amazing professor and content. Very understanding and broke down concepts simply. Note that there is a coding lab portion of the class that can be rough if you've never coded before.
The material was very similar to the early calculus bc stuff. The teacher was helpful and had online recordings of his lectures but I mostly just studied through the homework problems. The midterm and the final were very similar to the homework problems and the provided practice exams which made it very easy and convenient to study.
i think that dr bennoun did a great job prepping the lectures. his office hours were also very helpful!
Fair exams, clear slides, labs were ok. Group exam portion easy if all group members participate accordingly. Homework was a little challenging at times but not impossible, but graded pretty harshly.
Clear lectures, annotated the slides with us. Hardest part of the class was the coding tbh. The homework was also weird and a little more difficult than the lectures make it seem.
