    Great class that really makes you think about how the media you consume affects your brain. The class feels like a "sampling course" of various topics: sensational news, body image, stereotype threat, violent video games, social media and mental health, sex, etc. You will definitely learn a lot of interesting facts from this class!

    Professor Huppin is a really awesome professor – he's very clear and organized, you can tell he's passionate about teaching. If you're interested, ask him about his research or movies in office hours! He has a pretty interesting life story.

    The class is pretty easy, but does require some effort. There are two homework assignments each worth 10% that are fairly straightforward. Most of your grade comes from the midterm and final, which are a each a mix of multiple choice and short answer. Both tests will really test that you paid attention in lecture and did the readings. Make sure to re-read the readings the night before the test – Huppin loves to ask questions about the details of readings! He'll also give away a couple of test questions in lecture, so be sure to attend those.
