Professor Fallows is nice and funny. I think he tries to form connections with his students, which I applaud him for. Also, I had very extraneous circumstances that made attendance basically impossible, and he did start Zoom sessions for me and any other students who had COVID that week. He tries to convey ideas of how to write and find your voice, but I think he was too heavy-handed and didn't really allow my voice to shine through my essay. I realized that if I didn't make the points he agreed with on my second "personal" essay, I would likely receive harsher grading. So, I switched to basically a devil's advocate, and it got me an A the first time he reviewed my essay, compared to my first essay, which he gave me a C- minus on with very little feedback. When you get your feedback, I highly recommend asking him to record the audio because he makes points very quickly and reads very fast, so you won't be able to catch everything. It feels a bit strange to not have a good idea of what your grade is going to be, so keep that in mind if you're going to take this class.
