Great class and professor was entertaining.
Prepare to study a lot for this class; lecture material may be contradictory at times
I found this class very interesting, and Professor Anderson did a great job explaining concepts, but parts of the class were a little disorganized.
A lot of people do not like professor Anderson. I didn’t personally mind her but I did rely on a lot of external resources in order to understand material. I really recommend the Klein book problems. Those helped prepare me a lot for exams. Overall, there are a lot of organic chemistry resources so you will be fine if you complete practice problems and watch content videos.
Lectures were disorganized, but exams were very fair! It was her first quarter teaching so slides were confusing sometimes, but if she organized lect a bit better this class would be really good!
Explanations in class not very clear, overall class structure needs a lot of improvement
would not recommend taking class with this professor
Class was extremely disorganized and made it close to impossible to know what was the correct information. Professor Anderson claimed that we should be paying attention to the information provided in the Klein supplemental book, but would say in lecture to listen to her. Much of the time these two contradicted one another and students suffered on exams as a result. One of the worst professors as she was also changing the syllabus although it had been past week 3.
Anderson has students' best interests at heart but can sometimes miss the mark with her lectures. She's bound to get better though.
Anderson really doesn't deserve the hate that she gets on Bruinwalk. She was a great professor who explained the concepts very clearly and wrote very fair exams similar to the homework. As long as you do the work, you learn and earn good grades. The class had a 89 average overall which is really good for an Ochem class. She allowed us to drop exams and offered extra credit. Would definitely recommend taking this class with her.
