The first couple labs seemed to take a lot of time but once you get the hang of the assignments the class becomes pretty easy. Instructor posted practice exams that were very similar to real exams. My lecture was after my lab which was honestly fine because you could complete the prelab using only the lecture slides.
The lectures are fairly informative but I would say they need improvement in terms of clarity. They can be hard to follow and when approaching the post/pre labs I was often confused at first even thought they weren't overly difficult. The midterm was pretty easy but the content after that point is definitely more difficult. I wish the professor were more connected to his students because it seems he does not really have a desire to teach at all. Overall, it was a pretty low courseload and the one lab a week wasnt too bad.
Professor Ow's lectures are really organized. He uploads the lecture slides ahead of time which is really helpful when completing pre-lab assignments. Lab sections are mandatory. He records all his lectures which is really helpful. He responds to emails in a timely manner. Really enjoyed this coruse with him.
Dr. Ow was very straightforward with his midterm and final, which I liked. Your grade also heavily depends on how chill your TA is; mine said he would give everyone As on all the labs so I got lucky on that end.
the lectures and teachings were very clear and straightforward. labs can be pretty fun and never take the full 3 hours which is nice. overall fair class.
The class is easy content-wise but you always have one lab report due most week. The lectures were always recorded.
The lectures, for the most part, review of Chem 14B material. If you've already taken 14B, you'll pass this class with an easy A.
