I really enjoyed the content of this class. I also loved taking it with Dr. Khankan and Dr. Hsiao -- you could tell that they really cared about student engagement and understanding. They were also very contactable. Reading the textbook, engaging in lecture, and completing all required assignments are really helpful for your understanding in the class. The midterms were pretty hard.
Khankhan is an amazing instructor, but the exams are difficult.
Dr. Khankan and Dr. Hsiao are both very engaging and approachable lecturers. However, the course material is relatively dense compared to LS7A and 7B, and the exams were definitely a lot more challenging.
Difficult class, study clicker questions
This class was so much unnecessary busy work. Only take it if you have time to do almost 15+ hours outside of class, not including studying time.
Khankan is very good at lecturing. She actually providing content that wasn’t always on the reading so that you’re learning something instead of hearing what you read for homework reiterated to you. Hsiao is new but has a good grasp on lecturing, she can definitely improve. The lectures and discussions are good for test prep, but problem solving sessions helped the most. The tests were online asynchronous, so they didn’t feel that hard. Homework is easy but time consuming.
iclickers are location-based so you must go to class, also there is a lot of busy work but the class itself is pretty easy.
