Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Basic institutions and processes of democratic politics. Treatment of themes such as constitutionalism, representation, participation, and leadership coupled with particular emphasis on the American case. P/NP or letter grading.

    The reading is a bit dense, but to be honest, you could pass the class without doing any of the readings. It would be a lot easier if you did do everything the professor asks though because the articles give you real-world examples of concepts from class. Also, discussion attendance is mandatory.
