    Quarter Taken: Fall 2021 In-Person
    Grade: A

Dr. West is the GOAT. She is quite a rough grader, but she is a great lecturer and makes herself approachable. She also has a system where we have one-on-one meetings with her to help strengthen our writing and solidify our ideas for essays. Those meetings were the most useful part of the class, so make sure to take advantage of that. Also, if you don't listen to hip-hop, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. All the essays are analyses of songs and artists and if you don't have a general understanding of hip-hop, the essays will be quite hard to write. Also, there are no real exams, just essays and homework assignments. All in all, it's a fun yet challenging class that covers your diversity requirement.
