Tonya is a cool teacher that makes an effort to make the large class feel smaller. Group tests are rather easy while the individual can be more difficult, but the class is very manageable.

Kane is the most knowledgable professor I've ever had. Besides that, the TA's weren't really well informed, and you have to make a lot of assumptions that no one ever tells you, but overall it's a decent course. You need to put in the work in to get good scores, though.

Assuming you've taken 7A already, this is just same-old same-old. Still lots of assignments due before and after lecture.
While I personally found this class to be the easiest of the 7 series, I do have many friends that vehemently disagree with me. This class is a lot less memorization than 7A and a lot more application of concepts taught. Additionally, the way that Dr. Kane presents ideas can be quite vague, and she tends to gloss over material that we found confusing. Additionally, Dr. Kane is very sweet in lecture but can be a bit condescending in office hours.
Since this class is all about ecology and evolution, I would say that, if you were like me as a kid and watched National Geographic and/or the Discovery channel religiously, most of this material will be easy and intuitive. However, if this is your first time delving deeply into concepts of evolution and speciation, then this class is potentially more challenging.
