Professor Hsu is so sweet and she really wants everybody in the class to learn! I absolutely enjoyed going to lecture every day. The way she teaches is also so clear and organized. Make sure to understand everything from the discussion worksheets and in-class problems.

    Quarter Taken: Fall 2021 In-Person
    Grade: A-

Overall I really enjoyed math 115a Professor Chi-Yun. There was weekly quizzes that were pretty fair and even if you didn't do too well, they weren't too much of your grade. There was also weekly discussion worksheets that you had to work on with on your group which counted as your participation for that week and you are able to miss two weeks before it starts affecting your grade. As long as you worked through a portion of the worksheet then you were okay. At the end of the day the quizzes and worksheets were definitely more helpful than they were an annoyance. Lectures were also very clearly laid out with proofs and examples. The only annoyance I had was having to do homework in LaTeX which seemed a little unnecessary. She also communicates often about changes to office hours and also provides extra come midterms and finals. Again overall a good experience.
