The lectures are entirely based on the textbook which did not provide a sufficient amount of materials for us to be able to do the exams. Essentially, preparation for the exams is solely contributed from self-studying the textbooks. The professor, however, is really accommodating and nice.

If there’re alternatives, just don’t. This class was an experience of pain and confusion. Lectures are fast paced and textbook-copying based. The exam questions were chosen to reflect the hardest of topics. Midterms were multiple choice and in a crowded room so ofc grade means were high. The final was free response, also the same pattern of hard questions. I needed to close the door on myself for several days to do well on the final. Homework was another source of pain. A ton of questions per week (gets to 40 questions sometimes) with nothing to tell you whether your answers are right or wrong for three weeks. The discussion sections weren’t that organized as well. Pablo and the TAs were really great people when it comes to anything but math teaching. The TAs seemed to put in the effort but it just didn’t work. A good thing was the three grading distributions where you can drop one or both midterms.

A terrible professor that stands out even amidst a department full of them.

Pablo is a horrible professor who doenst know what he doing. He is very bad at explaining the material and seems to not know it himself. I strongly recommend not taking this course with Pablo if you want an A in this class. He just me reads off the textbook and doenst clearly explain the material.

The lectures were recorded and on zoom so we could learn on our own time if it was more convenient. I was well prepared for the tests and I got the grade I expected I'd get.

I thought I was good at math, but after this class, I realized I was not. Ocal is a nice and funny professor. He is easy to talk to and would love to help whenever you are confused. Aside from that, the course itself is structured to be really confusing. The midterms and final just keep on getting worse and worse. I genuinely do not know how people do well on these tests because most of the time I am uncertain about every single question despite studying a ton. I am just lucky that I get an A-.
