I enjoyed taking the class with Flynn. There are weekly quizzes but their format is almost 100% identical to the homework with just a few variables changed. The two lowest quiz scores are dropped. Overall not too hard if you keep up with the weekly homework.
The lectures didn't help me much, but the textbook was great
LIke most UCLA math classes, completely dependent on tests and weekly quizzes. Optional homework problem sets that include question nearly identical to the problems on the weekly quizzes. Nice curve at the end for the final and weekly quizzes.
The lectures for this class were easy to understand, however, sometimes he would run out of time and really rush at the end. I would recommend that if you do not understand something, go to the professor’s office hours. Homework for this class was not graded, so all of the final grade comes from quizzes, midterms, and the final. He does curve liberally though. The first midterm is the easiest and it slowly gets harder from there.
Everything was fine except the final. The final was unreasonably hard
Not great lecturer but generous grader. Curved final 20 points since it was extremely hard and nothing we'd seen previously in lecture, discussion, or the midterm.
Easy A if u put in the work. Quizzes and midterms questions are the same as homework questions. If know how to do hw, u should fine with the midterms and quizzes. The final was a bit hard but he curved the class to average 90.
This was a pretty easy class with very fair midterms. The final was hard but it had a huge curve. Would recommend reading the textbook for practice.
