pretty straightforward class but wording of tests could get tricky at times!
Easy A course. Great professors who held 3 oh per week (include one non-content on Thursday) and willing to answer whatever questions. Both MT are 2h long and final is 3h long.
From what I remember they were very nice but the class was pretty hard. This was my first class at UCLA and it was honestly not what I expected. Everything was online, the midterms and finals. There was group portions you had to complete with the group from your discussion section. The midterms and final sucked.
This class is pretty stressful just because there is a lot of information to take in. However, these lecturures were pretty good at explaining stuff that was confusing. Attendance was required through iClicker. Also disussion/group work was pretty tedious and it means u have to try to work with other stem people who aren't very social and make things awkward. But i got a good grade so its ok.
definitely a weeder class. the entire 7 series is really difficult and this being my first class at UCLA did not help much. try your best and know that you aren't stupid if you don't do well. a study group would've helped me a lot personally because the lectures and homework and everything are just not reflective of the exams 100% so yea try 500% effort if you want to get an A.
Sometimes lectures were useless as they go through material that you already might have known from the assigned readings required for you to complete the homework. But sometimes they do go a bit more in depth and share some details that will be on the exams.
Some of the greatest professors at UCLA. Period. They both are simply great, know what they are talking about, and care about their students. Take this class with them.
I really liked this class with Dr. Maloy. He was very easy to understand and did not overcomplicate subjects.
Overall, not a bad class. Definitely helps if you have knowledge from AP Bio, but you can still do fine without it. Go to problem solving sessions and be sure to understand the concepts really well before midterms; otherwise the wording on the questions could be very confusing. But Maloy and Braybrook are great professors. Highly recommend.
Professor Maloy is an incredible professor. He was always so eager to help students with challenging material in the course. His lectures were engaging and he was very successful in simplifying topics. Taking 7A with Maloy and Braybrook was was overall a pleasant experience.
